Disaster in Disguise

The Statement-
As of now there are 7,106,166,294 people in the world, all with their own lives and stories. Everyone has secrets. Everyone has something they hide from. And everyone has an array of masks that they wear. People suffer from destruction just as the earth does; however, from all the pain and anger one feels, it seems to serve as a cycle of life.

People hide their emotions in unpredictable ways, so that on the surface they are somebody else. These photographs show an exaggerated form of the abuse and pain people who are destructive go through in terms of their emotional twisted state. Projected upon the faces are the world’s most natural morbid beauties. The self-inflicted destruction that one does upon themselves can be seen as voluntary, versus natural destruction on earth, which is organic and natural. Sadly enough, both are the unpredictable in this world unknown.

Through the different forms of destruction, every individual is unique in his or her state and mind. People use an array of methods to destroy themselves, just as the earth faces destruction everyday. The disaster is upon the mind and hearts, but we just disguise ourselves, turning into a disaster in disguise. The voluntary destruction versus the involuntary is an inescapable aspect of life. Just as the earth gets destroyed, we too get destroyed- the only difference is that the earth has no choice, but humans do.
