Thoughts of shots outside a 7/11,
directing my little sister
on how to shoot from a Polaroid camera.
Absorbed by the sounds of Tegan and Sara,
being able to lift up my camera
way up high
to snap a Polaroid
and shaking it up dry.

A heart that makes people feel ever so blue...

Gimme a twin or two, it's my birthday.

MMaarinaa, hazy... and softened by the DDiamonds.
Hidden in dismay, by the lights and circles of grey...

Kudos for inspiration:

The lighting brings an amazing affect onto these Lindsey Byrnes photographs, along with the angles.

"Oh No" by Marina and the Diamonds
Whenever I feel something is hard to accomplish, a song like this boosts my hopes. She seems to have so much faith and passion within herself and her music.
I'd like to feel that way one day about my photographs.

With my camera and paper and pen in hand, I got to do my first photojournalism assignment for Campus Circle magazine. Being pretty anxious to do my very first interview, the band Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. actually made me feel very comfortable, which was great.
So, here it is:

"If it wasn’t for the musical instruments and the dimly lit stage, the Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. performance could have been easily mistaken for a NASCAR race show. The duo hailing from Detroit walked on stage wearing matching race car outfits – Joshua Epstein, the vocalist and guitarist donned a Cheerios race suit, while Daniel Zott, the vocalist and synth player, wore a Lysol race suit. Hammering down hip hop beats with a tang of folk, the duo rallied up quite a crowd at 3 Clubs in Los Angeles. With their intense energy and drifting sounds, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. had the crowd spinning out of control. The aerodynamics of the band lifted up the spirits of their audience, especially during the song “Vocal Chords,” which is off their new EP titled Horse Power. With American flags hung around the stage, this American influenced stage setup was a cockpit for the two to zoom-off into an intense release of music that was not only fun and upbeat, but raw and melodic. Their winning streak continued throughout due to their harmonization and full throttle energy. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. will be taking a hot lap around the US to finish their tour, but I am hoping that the band decides to race back to Los Angeles for another pit stop."

I was pretty interested in this band because of their outfits, quirkiness, and hip hop/folk music. Going to their show made me appreciate their uniqueness even more. Being different is definitely a good characteristic.
